How to Get PS5 Screenshots and Clips onto Your Phone

The quick way to move a Gran Turismo 7 screenshot or clip from your PlayStation 5 to your phone using the PlayStation App, so you can upload race results and qualifying.

You captured a great finish or a qualifying result on your PS5 and now you want it on your phone, to post it or to upload it to your league. Here's the fastest way, no cables.

The one-time setup

Install the PlayStation App on your phone (free, App Store or Google Play) and sign in with the same account you use on your PS5. That's it. The app and the console talk to each other automatically over the internet.

Taking the screenshot on PS5

Press the Create button (the one to the left of the touchpad on the DualSense controller). A quick press options menu appears. Choose Take Screenshot for a still, or you can grab the last stretch of gameplay as a clip. In Gran Turismo 7, do this on the results screen after a race, or on your car settings screen to capture your Performance Points.

Getting it to your phone

1. Open the PlayStation App on your phone. 2. Tap the Game Library or your profile, then look for Captures (recent screenshots and clips sync there automatically). 3. Tap the screenshot you want, then Save to your phone (the download or share icon).

Your capture is now in your phone's camera roll, ready to upload anywhere.

A few things worth knowing

For our drivers

This is exactly how you submit qualifying and how the commissioner captures results. Take your five-lap session screenshot and your car settings screenshot on the PS5, save both to your phone through the app, then open the qualifying page on the same phone and upload them. The site reads the numbers off the images; you just confirm. The rules for qualifying are on the Rules page.

The IFRL is a sixteen-driver GT7 league in Rochester, Minnesota. Qualifying and results both run on PS5 screenshots. Related: how we run results.
